The Center for Professional Education, located in the Tobin
College of Business School of Risk Management, Insurance and
Actuarial Science, provides seminars, workshops, certificate
programs and professional designation examination preparation
courses, as well as consulting services to industry, governments
and regulators worldwide.
For over 30 years, the Center has served the educational needs
of more than 10,000 professionals in the insurance, risk management
and financial services industry. With a faculty of highly trained
scholars and experienced industry professionals, we offer students
both the technical fundamentals of and a practitioner's perspective
on insurance, risk management and general business principles.
The School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science
(SRM) was founded in 1901 as The Insurance Society of New York, and
over the years evolved into The College of Insurance (TCI). In
2001, TCI merged with St. John's University, becoming a unit of The
Peter J. Tobin College of Business.
We are conveniently located at SRM's campus in the financial
district of lower Manhattan. Students who take courses at the
Center reap a variety of benefits, including:
