Dr. Ibrahim M. Badawi
Professor of Accounting and
Taxation
Professor Ibrahim M. Badawi holds a B.Com in accounting from Cairo
Polytechnic, Egypt, M.B.A. in accounting and a Ph.D. in Financial
Administration and Government Budgeting from New York University;
and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of New
York.
Professor Badawi has published four books. He also
published two conference proceedings (Center for Global Business,
and Association of Egyptian-American Scholars Conferences) in the
United States. He has published five chapters in books, three
monographs, and has reviewed several books (for John Wiley &
Sons, Publishers). Professor Badawi has published more than
25 articles (in English, Spanish and Arabic), which are
published in such U.S. peer-reviewed journals as the Review of
Business, Commercial Lending Review, Bank Accounting &
Finance, and Journal of Southwestern
Economists. In addition, he has published in such
international journals as the Journal of Empresas Publicas
(Mexico), the Journal of Commerce and Finance (Egypt) and
the Journal of Public Administration and Journal of
Administration Library (both in Saudi Arabia). He also
published five chapters in books.
Professor Badawi has more than 150 research papers
presented in USA, Canada, Egypt, Mexico, Italy and Turkey
and are published in such international, national and regional
conference proceedings as the American Accounting Association,
American Academy of Accounting and Finance, Global Business and
Technology Association, American Society of Business and Behavioral
Sciences, International Conferences Promoting Business Ethics,
Association for Global Business, Northeast Business & Economics
Association, Southern Society of Economists, New England Business
Administration Association (NEBAA), International Project
Management Association, Business Association of Latin American
Studies, Rocky Mountain Council on Latin American Studies, Canadian
Academy of International Business, and Association of
Egyptian-American Scholars. Professor Badawi has coordinated
several conferences, reviewed many papers for consideration at
conference presentations, been a discussant for many papers, and
chaired many sessions at various academic conferences.
Professor Badawi has sponsored and supervised research
of 19 visiting business faculty members from
several universities in Egypt, obtaining more than $45,000 external
grants for the University. He was a member of the Review Board of
the Southwestern Economic Review, and was a board member of the
NEBAA. He was elected twice to leadership positions in the
Association of Egyptian-American Scholars. He has received several
research grants from the Tobin College of Business, as well as the
recipient of the Student Government and College Alumni Associations
Teaching Awards. Professor Badawi has significant international
pedagogical experience and, has for several years taught in Egypt
and Saudi Arabia. He participated in grading the CPA and CMA
exams for many years.
