Joan Ball is pursuing her PhD in business at the International School of Management, earned an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College and a B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany. She has extensive professional experience in public relations and marketing communications working directly and consulting for professional services firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard and Poors and Zurich North America. She was a corporate spokesperson for Consolidated Edison in New York City and at the Indian Point 2 Nuclear Power facility. Prior to teaching at St. John’s University, she taught at the State University of New York at New Paltz and Marist College where she was named part-time Teacher of the Year in 2009.
Her dissertation focuses on values across generations with a particular interest in Generation X and Millennials. In the classroom she is especially interested in academic service learning, overseeing her students as they provide strategic marketing support to non-profit organizations in New York City.
