Leonora Fuxman

Associate Professor of Management

Dr. Fuxman has earned her BS in Mathematics from Kiev State University, Ukraine in 1987. She earned her MS in Decision Sciences in 1991 and her Ph.D. in Operations Management in 1994 both from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fuxman's research interests are in the area of production and operations management, international business and entrepreneurship. She is particularly interested in Flexible Manufacturing and Teamwork. She worked with a major U.S. automotive manufacturer on a research project involving developing team-based approach to assembly production process. Dr. Fuxman is also interested in issues of business ethics development in Ukraine and other newly independent former Soviet Republics.

Her research work appeared in Production and Operations Management Journal, Journal of Applied Business Research, International Journal of Commerce and Management, and Journal of Business Ethics. Dr. Fuxman had presented a number of research papers at National and International conferences. She serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Academy of Business Administration. She has also served as a reviewer to a number of research journals and conventions. Dr. Fuxman won a first prize at the National competition for a case study "Cineplex Odeon — The Motion Picture Theater Industry." She also won the Teacher of the Year Award in 1996 sponsored by the Student Government of St. John's University. Dr. Fuxman is a member of the INFORMS - Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, DSI - Decision Sciences Institute, APICS - the Educational Society for Resource Management.
