Patrick Lyons

Dr. Patrick J. Lyons
Associate Professor of Management

Dr. Lyons earned his B.E.E. from Manhattan College in 1965, his M.S. from Case Institute of Technology in 1967, and his Ph.D. from Adelphi University in 1973. Prior to joining St. John's in 1976, Dr. Lyons was employed by Grumman Aerospace Corp. for nine years where he performed analytical studies using management science techniques to determine the best use of corporate products and resources.

Dr. Lyons' research interests are in the general area of applying information systems technology to challenging management opportunities. He has presented papers and conducted workshops at national meetings of several societies such as The Institute of Management Science and The American Association for Artificial Intelligence. Currently his specific research interest is in applying neural networks to production control. In addition to several journal articles, Dr. Lyons has published a book and software package, Applying Expert System Technology to Business, with Wadsworth Publishing Company in 1993.

Dr. Lyons is a member of INFORMS: Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, APICS: The Educational Society for Resource Management, The International Neural Network Society, and The I.E.E.E. Computer Society.
