Four Tobin College of Business Students Receive $5,000 Scholarships from KPMG Stanley Shirk Scholarship Fund

Four St. John’s University students from The Peter J. Tobin College of Business received $5,000 scholarships from the KPMG Stanley Shirk Scholarship endowment fund during a ceremony that took place on October 20, 2004 on the St. John’s University Queens Campus. Ebony Hoyte of Freeport, NY, Sherley Rosefort of Brooklyn, NY, Anthony Carbonara of Staten Island, NY, and Ka-Sin Ung of Brooklyn, NY (left to right in photo), were recipients of the scholarships, which are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.

The four students, who were selected by the Department of Accounting and Taxation’s Student Affairs Committee, are enrolled in the graduate accounting program. Theresa Ahlstrom, a partner at KPMG, presented the students with their scholarships. KPMG, a global provider of outstanding professional services, maintains an ongoing, mutually beneficial relationship with The Tobin College of Business.
