On
October 21, 2010, undergraduate students in the
Executive-in-Residence Program (EIRP) presented their
recommendations to approximately 30 executives at the Goldman Sachs
200 West Street offices. This semester’s project involved
developing an infrastructure and support model for a new operations
team in support of the Goldman Sachs Equity Sales Desk in
Brazil.
“Our three EIRP student teams were challenged by the
organizational, international, and technical aspects of their
project. Each team worked closely with several Goldman Sachs
executives who advised them on the strategic and operational
approaches typically used by the firm’s Global Operations Division
when setting up an international support office. All student
teams provided excellent presentations. Attending Goldman Sachs
executives were very impressed with our students’ strategies and
presentation skills,” noted Larry Boone, director of the
Executive-in-Residence Program and associate professor of
management.
The presentations, hosted by Peter T. Johnston, managing
director of Global Operations for Goldman Sachs and a Tobin College
of Business alumnus, were the culmination of six weeks of meetings,
research and in-depth analysis.
