For the first-time ever, St. John’s The
School of Education is offering specialized courses for students
within the Discover the World program!
Make sure you check out your financial aid award letter.
Many students are eligible for increased aid when they study
abroad, so it may be much more affordable than you
think!
This unique opportunity provides all undergraduate education
majors with a chance to spend a full semester abroad while staying
on track for graduation. As part of the Discover the World:
Education program, you will take classes in Paris, France; Rome,
Italy; and Seville, Spain with two specially designed courses that
connect the program to your academic discipline. The program offers
a multi-faceted perspective on European culture, art, and politics,
while allowing you to pursue your regular education coursework.
Through our coursework and service activities—including options
at an elementary school located across the street from our Rome
Campus—you will encounter extraordinary opportunities to engage
with the people and cultures of modern Europe. Above all, you'll
build a stronger academic portfolio by living and learning in three
European cities in a single semester.
Join us for the all-new Discover the World: Education
program. Following the program’s modular format, we feature
an innovative, modular class format that splits your 15-week
semester into three, five-week sessions. This way, you’ll take one
or two courses in each city, allowing you to fully concentrate on
and absorb your coursework. Upon returning from Europe, you will be
able to continue your classes in New York in the spring, including
service learning and observation hours, to ensure you stay on
target for graduation.
Students will enjoy the flexibility of multiple teaching
methods, taking face-to-face classes in Rome, Paris and Seville and
one Online Learning course spanning the entire semester.
