Experience the history, language and culture of this sprawling
Eurasian power. You’ll spend two weeks in the great cities of
Moscow and St. Petersburg as you study Mass Media in Russia
In Moscow, you’ll behold the majesty of Eastern architecture in
the onion domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral and the mighty battlements
of the Kremlin. In St. Petersburg, you’ll wander magnificent
Georgian boulevards that Peter the Great constructed to emulate the
capitals of Europe.
Above all, you’ll learn how the evolving mass media are
transforming life and politics in Russia and its former Soviet
satellites. This course investigates the ways the Russian language
covers and shapes media events in this vast region. Planned trips
include the Bolshoi Theater, the Tretiakov Gallery, Red Square and
the historic Kremlin.
Accommodations throughout the program will be in small moderate
hotels in double room occupancy
