This year’s Resort Management course takes students from the snowy
confines of New York City to Nassau, Bahamas— a location known for

As part of this dynamic program you’ll gain
unparalleled exposure to the important management and operations
aspects of the resort industry, as well as hands-on experience at a
major resort—the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort & Casino in
the Bahamas. It’s here, on Paradise Island, where you’ll gain an
up-close-and-personal look into the daily undertakings of resort
management, specifically in the areas of activity programming,
guest safety & security, corporate & meeting planning, and
the management of seasonal employees.

- HMT 1072: Resort Management*
This course provides students with comprehensive
need-to-know information on the management of today’s wide range of
resorts, from golf courses, ski resorts, spas, and casinos, to
theme parks and cruises. The course concentrates on the specific
issues and problems encountered by resort facilities, it covers
activity programming, safety and security of guests, corporate and
meeting planning, and managing seasonal employees.
* Please note: Upon returning from the
Bahamas, this course will continue as a hybrid Distance Learning
class during the spring 2014 semester.
*Classes are subject to appropriate enrollment. Although courses
may be offered we need to maintain a minimum number of students to
run winter courses.
