Axco Insurance Market
Reports [Access is restricted

Axco is an independent
provider of detailed insurance market information covering over 165
countries. As well as providing an essential daily tool
for multinational underwriters and brokers, the reports provide an
excellent insight into new markets for anyone connected with the
insurance industry. Each report starts with general
background information on the country (politics, economy,
geography, demographics, etc.) to help put the insurance data into
context. The regulatory situation is then outlined in detail,
followed by an analysis of the market as a whole, and of each major
line of business, including a
range of topics such as premium and loss data, market
players and distribution channels.

Library is a web-based service that enables an enterprise-wide

contains both current and archival insurance industry research

Hoover's Online [Available on all SJU campuses]
Hoover's Online is an excellent source for basic
information on more than 11,000 public and private U.S. companies
and international companies. Resources include company overviews,
history, news, officers, employees, locations & subsidiaries,
products/operations, competitors, financial reports, stock quotes,
SEC filings, and full-text news articles. Hoover's provides access
to brief company information (capsule) or a complete report
(profile). This site also provides links to company homepages,
history, mission statements, and public companies' 10-K and annual
reports. There are also 50+ industry reports, which discuss the
history of the industry, provide statistics and corporate
players
Insurance Periodicals

Indexes and abstracts over 200 of the most respected and
widely-read insurance industry journals and magazines. Coverage
dates as far back as 1965 and features a controlled vocabulary of
index terms which reflects current insurance industry
terminology.
ISIS [Access

The ISIS database consists of comprehensive detailed
reports on public and private insurance companies around the world.
ISIS contains information on over 6,400 companies with a total
of 7,600 statements.Over 100 different countries are covered.
Integral analysis software allows you to compare companies against
each other and produce tables and graphs to illustrate your
results. These can be downloaded into most
packages.

Loislaw is an intergrated legal research tool that is a digital
gateway to primary law, public records, treatises and legal forms.

SNL - Financial is the premier provider of breaking
news, financial data and expert analysis on business sectors
critical to the global economy. This database offers the ability to
evaluate the entire U.S. insurance market including both public and
private company infomation. Access to SEC Filings. Statutory Data.
M&A capital markets and market share information. Key ratios,
sector-specific reports and various other metrics for Property
