Whereas most faculty would agree that an important component of a
vibrant successful classroom is a willingness to explore the
comfort boundaries, what that means in practice is hard to define.
In this workshop, faculty from a number of disciplines, working
with students at different levels, will briefly discuss what they
think is effective in creating a culture of risk-taking in the
classroom. The panel will then open the floor to discussion about
what it means to take risks in the classroom, and how to encourage
