What
St. John's University Staten Island campus will be the host site for the September 11 Memorial Light display, a set of high-powered lights that shine into the night sky, depicting the Twin Towers. A short prayer service will precede the illumination of the lights.

The lights will shine from 8 p.m. to midnight in a tribute to the hundreds of loved ones lost on September 11, 2001, including the 73 St. John's University alumni who either worked in the towers or who were members of the police, fire, and other emergency units who ran into the towers to help people get out.

One of the highest points on Staten Island, the St. John's campus provides an ideal spot from which to display the lights, which will be visible from around the New York area. The lights, which are supplied by St. Clare's WTC Outreach, will be displayed at other Staten Island locations from September 6 to 12.
