The J. Donald Kennedy Endowed Chair in
E-Commerce
The J. Donald Kennedy Endowed Chair in E-Commerce is held by
a national and international leader in the practice and scholarship
of marketing. The faculty who have held this chair are leaders in
teaching and research in the field of e-commerce. The chair
was established in 1994 by a gift from Bernard D. Kennedy '54 CBA,
'58 LAW, in honor of his father, J. Donald Kennedy, a New York area
business executive.
Leon G. Schiffman
Dr. Schiffman is a Professor of Marketing and the J. Donald Kennedy
Endowed Chair in E-Commerce at the Peter J. Tobin College of
Business.
Before his recent move to St. John's, Professor Shiffman was the
Lippert Distinguished Scholar of Marketing at the Ziklin School of
Business of Baruch College of the City University of New
York. Prior to his position at Baruch, he was Professor and
Chairman of the Marketing Department at the Graduate School of
Management at Rutgers University, and a member of the faculty of
Pace University.
Professor Schiffman holds a Ph.D. Degree in Business from the
City University of New York.

Insurance
Nicos A. Scordis
Dr. Nicos Scordis is an Associate Professor and the John R.
Cox/ACE Ltd. Chair of Risk and Insurance. He received an MBA
degree from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. Degree in
Corporate Finance and Insurance Economics from University of South
Carolina.
Dr. Scordis has published in the Journal of Insurance Issues,
Journal of Risk and Insurance, Journal of International Business
Studies, among others.
The Caroon Academic Chair in
Insurance
James Barrese
Dr. James Barrese is the Robert F. Caroon Professor and
serves as Chairperson of the School of Risk Management Insurance
and Actuarial Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from
Rutgers University. He has published in the Journal of
Business, CPCU Journal and the Journal of State Taxation.
