Robert O. Stanton

Associate Professor of Mathematics, Computer Science, & Natural Sciences

Dr. Stanton has been a member of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of St. John’s College since 1975. He has been a leader in the use of technology in the classroom, having eliminated the blackboard in favor of a real time computer presentation.  He is an experienced online instructor. His main focus of research has been Abelian groups, but he has also published in number theory (including a paper with the remarkable title “The Remarkable Number 648”) and mathematics education. He received a gold watch for twenty five years of service to the university several years ago, but didn’t take the hint and is still here.
