Re: The Offices of Human Resources and Student Employment
Move to the University Center
Date: Friday, February 8, 2013

On Monday, February 11, 2013 at noon, the Offices of Human Resources and Student Employment will open in their new permanent location in the University Center on the Queens campus.

The new office space will offer an ample reception area and an all-new, on-location employee training center.  Employees and students who visit us will have the convenience of two self-service computer kiosks, as well as flat screens in the reception and conference areas that are connected to the university broadcast message system.

This move will include the following departments:

  • Office of the Senior Vice President
  • Employee Benefits
  • Student Employment
  • Employee Relations and Compliance
  • Recruitment Services
  • Training and Development
  • Payroll Services and HRIS
  • Compensation
  • HR Services

On Friday, February 8 beginning at 11 a.m., Human Resources phone extensions will experience a temporary interruption in service for the remainder of the day as the lines are transitioned to the new offices.  If you need to reach our staff after 11 a.m. on Friday, you can call either (718) 990-2787 or (718) 990-2331.  All staff will continue to be available via e-mail until 3 p.m. Friday.

At 3 p.m. Friday, our offices in St. Augustine Hall will close and we will reopen in our new location in the University Center on Monday, February 11 at 12 p.m.  All phone/fax numbers and extensions will remain the same in our new location. During our brief closure, we will continue to check voicemail and will return calls. We assure you that any disruption in our service will be minimal and we apologize for the inconvenience, however brief.

You may recall that last September our Human Resources and Student Employment offices were moved out of Chiang Ching-Kuo Hall, and we took up temporary accommodations in St. Augustine Hall, while our permanent office space in the University Center was prepared.  We are pleased with the design of our new space, as it will allow us to continue to provide employees and students with the high quality service you have come to expect.

Stop by and see us in our new offices! We look forward to welcoming you.
