Department of Biological Sciences -

Dr. Simon Moller, Biology Faculty, has been awarded $900,000 Grant from the Norwegian Research Council.

The grant will be used for research on Parkinson's Disease particularly on identifying mechanisms involved in disease onset and progression with the ultimate aim of designing new ways to diagnose the disease early and to provide tools for intervention.

The grant will be used to employ four postdoctoral researchers, three years each, in addition to a handsome materials budget.  The grant will also open up the possibility for more research based education.

Student engagement within research laboratories, connected directly to Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers, provides motivation and real insight into the exciting world of biological concepts and mechanisms.
