Season of Advent 9:00 AM The Season of Advent is filled with light and hope. With so much darkness and suffering in the world, we yearn for the promised Emmanuel, "God is with us." And so, at this often frantic time of year, we invite the entire University community to join us in a sacred time of waiting, silence and prayer.

Interested in Making Your Course Part of Our Learning Community Program? 9:00 AM As the University prepares for the Spring 2012 semester, the Learning Communities Program invites St. John’s faculty to consider partnering with the program, which promotes stronger contacts between professors and first-year students through mentoring, teaching and creating learning experiences beyond the classroom.

GET YOUR BALD ON…on MARCH 15, in Queens and Staten Island! 12:00 PM The St. John's community joins to fight childhood cancer this spring by supporting "Locks of Love" and the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This annual event--to be held on March 15, 2012--radiates energy, enthusiasm and "buzz": from the hair clippers and the dedication of supporters.

Do You Have an Idea for An Academic Lecture? 12:00 PM Student Affairs is currently accepting proposals for Academic Lectures for the Spring of 2012 semester on the Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan Campuses.

St. John's Bread of Life's "Sponsor-A-Family” program 11:00 AM This holiday season, St. John’s Bread and Life Soup Kitchen hopes to serve over 2,000 families and also bring warm winter gear to over 1,000 individuals through its annual “Sponsor-A-Family” program. The Sponsor-A-Family initiative delivers food, clothing and toy packages to families who would otherwise be unable to celebrate the holiday.
