She began the Kappa Eta empire during her time as an
Executive Board member here at St. John’s University, and simply
flourished from there. Miss Alexandra Foukalas has opened her
eyes, and her heart to Kappa Delta Pi and the School of Education
as a whole.
Not only does she dream big for herself, she has taken students
under her wing to guide and encourage them to reach their full
potential. Alexandra Foukalas did just that during her years
as an Executive board member and presently, her transition into the
position of the Kappa Eta Chapter’s Associate Counselor. Her
passion for what this chapter can do for education majors at St.
John’s is undeniable, and has trickled over to all of Kappa Delta
Pi as a whole. This passion and dedication was recognized at
the 2011 Kappa Delta Pi Convention in Indianapolis, as she received
the Distinguished Chapter Officer award.
In regards to her award, the Kappa Eta Chapter President Erica
Zissel states, “I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the
Distinguished Chapter Officer Award than Alexandra. Her
commitment to Kappa Eta truly sets her apart from everyone
else. She embodies what it means to be both a member of Kappa
Delta Pi and a leader within the organization and The School of
Education as a whole. Kappa Eta would not be one of the
world’s best chapters—if not the best—if it was not for the passion
that constantly drove Alexandra to better the organization and
tomorrow’s educators. She has definitely left a lasting
imprint on Kappa Eta and we will be forever grateful for all that
she did during her time as Executive President and all that she
continues to do.”
Alexandra sees Kappa Eta as more than just St. John’s
University; she incorporates service aspects of KDP by expanding
our service projects to reach the community at large. As Membership
Chair, Kelvin Sage, noted, “Ms. Foukalas has been and
continues to be one of the main forces that has driven
the Kappa Delta Pi-Kappa Eta chapter to what it is
today. Her dedicated service towards ensuring the management
and success of Kappa Eta in all aspects has paved the way for
future leaders of the chapter to strive towards similar
aspirations.” In addition, she continues to take
the Kappa Eta chapter to a higher level, constantly pushing not
only the Executive Board, but herself as well. Miss Alexandra
Foukalas always dreams big, and continues to be an asset and role
model to the School of Education.
