The Queens campus language laboratory is a brand-new
state-of-the-art digital laboratory featuring 39 student stations
with PCs, keyboards and flat screen monitors which have playback
and recording capability for audio and video files as well as CD
ROMs. It allows students to perfect their language skills in
one or several of the 14 languages currently offered at St. John’s
University.

Requirements
All students registered for a foreign language class, level I
through IV and for ESL Speech classes must fulfill a language lab
requirement which consists of attending a total of 10 sessions per
semester of instruction in the Language Laboratory. Proof of
completion of lab work will be required in order to earn credits
for the course.
Lab Registration and Policy
During the Fall and Spring semesters, students must come to the Lab
within the first two weeks of the semester alone or as a
class accompanied by their instructor in order to sign up for
a specific time-slot. During the Summer Sessions, students must
sign-up within the first week of the semester. Students may
start their lab sessions within their scheduled time-slot as
soon as they have registered. Absolutely no food or
drinks are permitted inside the lab to ensure safety of the
equipment.
