Chul-Hoon Kwon, Ph.D.
Kwon’s research focuses on designing more effective cancer drugs to
treat solid tumors, “which are particularly resistant,” he says,
“to radiation and chemotherapy.” His most recent research includes
studies of sulfur-containing compounds as novel anticancer
prodrugs, “with a particular emphasis on the exploitation of
selective enzyme processes for their activation.” He will be
presenting his latest research at the Centennial American

Diana Bartelt, Ph.D.
The Director of St. John’s Institute for Biotechnology spent her
sabbatical research leave engaged in cutting edge cancer research
at OSI Pharmaceuticals, assisting in the identification of target
proteins or genes known to be involved in the progression of some
cancers of the pancreas, lung and liver.

Senshang Lin, Ph.D.
Through his 2006 Fulbright Award, Senshang Lin conducted research
on a new way to fight breast cancer through the topical
administration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which suppresses
the growth of cancer cells. Lin conducted his research and taught
at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan.
