The St. John's University Physician Assistant Education

Requirements for Admission
- Admission to the program is competitive. Applicants are
evaluated on their academic record, letters of reference, personal
statements and interviews. Healthcare experience is desirable but
not required.
- Independent students apply through the Central Application
Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) and must possess a
baccalaureate degree.
- Applicants from those schools with articulation agreements with
St. John's will follow their school’s graduation requirements and
the program’s requirements.
- Applicants who did not complete high school in the
United States must must take the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL).

Minimum requirements for all applicants include 16 credits in
the basic sciences taken within 5 years of entry into this program.
This includes:
- Microbiology with lab - one semester
- Anatomy and Physiology with labs- two semesters
- Chemistry with lab- one semester
- Applications should be received by November 1.
Advance standing is not granted.
