The St. John’s University Physician Assistant Education Program
admitted its first students in 1994 and was accredited in 1995. The
first class graduated in 1996.
The two-year, full-time program is designed to provide the
academic, professional and clinical training for the Primary Care
Physician Assistant.
The St. John's Physician Assistant Education Program
prepares individuals to become competent, caring physician
assistants who can provide quality health care to patients of all
ages. Graduates are eligible to take the National Commission on
Certification of PAs Initial Certification Examination (
PANCE). Independent students are awarded a professional
certificate while students from St. John's University receive
a baccalaureate degree and a professional certificate from the
program.
