A student radiographer may voluntarily declare that she is
pregnant in writing to the
program director.
The student will be given the following
options by the program director:
- The student has the right to completely withdraw from the
program.
- The student can withdraw from the program with the option to
return to the program, at a later time, and start exactly where she
left off prior to withdrawal.
- The student may continue in the program without
modification.
- The student may continue in the program with modification -
regulate and minimize clinical rotations in areas of high radiation
exposure.
- If the student does decide to remain in the program a
conference with the Chief Radiation Safety Officer will be arranged
to discuss current NCRP recommendations regarding protection
and MDP to fetus.
