Overview

The collaborative Bachelor of Science Degree in Dramatic Arts, Film and Television enables students to enhance their knowledge, practical skills, and career opportunities in the field of professional acting, film, television, theatre and the dramatic arts through extensive theoretical and practical training.

Students spend their first two years at St. John's campus in Queens, NY, and their second two at AADA's Manhattan campus. However, students also may choose to enter the program as freshmen at either institution.

The program draws upon the resources of St. John’s University as a metropolitan university and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts as a leader in the field of training actors. Their combined intellectual and artistic resources and their cultural diversity provide graduates with an exceptional education in the dramatic, film and television arts.

Students enjoy the benefits of a major Catholic university — with its breadth of academic offerings, including coursework in film, television and the liberal arts — coupled with the specialized training in acting available through AADA.  The ability of the institutions to work collaboratively reduces costs while maximizing the program’s value to students.
