Public Relations specialists are employed in both private and
public sectors, working in advertising and public relations
agencies providing various communication services and working in
corporate communications departments in organizations across all
industries.
They direct, manage and coordinate a broad range of
communications support services including: news writing, media
planning, event planning, information management, presentations,
human relations, interviewing, speech writing, visual design,
publishing, Web media management, political communication and
education.
Internships
Internships are available to selected
students enrolled in the Public Relations degree program
within the Division of Mass Communication. The internship is a for credit supervised
off-campus experience arranged by the Division Chairperson or
Program Director to providing direct experience and entry into the
professional world at nearly 300 media organizations in the New
York metropolitan area are available to qualified
students.
