Heritage Month 2005 - Heritage as a Gift: Evolution of the
African Diaspora presents a lecture with
Angela Davis
An educator, author, and organizer, Angela Davis has received
recognition throughout the world for tirelessly fighting oppression
in all its forms. One of the most prominent and influential figures
in many international campaigns for human rights, Ms. Davis is "a
living witness to the historical struggles of the contemporary
era." Her activism and academic achievements span over three
decades and cover the spectrum of justice issues. She has written
five books and dozens of scholarly articles, and she presently
serves as a tenured professor in the History of Consciousness
Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
