African
Heritage Month 2005 - Heritage as a Gift: Evolution of the
African Diaspora presents the
Heritage as a Gift Essay
Contest
In 1929, Carter G. Woodson opined that “those who have no record
of what their forbears have accomplished lose the inspiration that
comes from the teaching of biography and history.” Students have
the opportunity this year to reflect upon the contribution of
African-Americans in American history. The 1500-word essay should
be a cohesive presentation of the African-American contribution.
One $200 American Express gift card will be awarded for the best
essay.
