The
Center for International and Comparative Law presents:
The Republic of Moldova, the United Nations, and the
United States: A Roundtable Discussion with Moldova’s Ambassador to
the UN and Moldova’s Honorary Consul in New York
Moldova, a former Soviet republic at the crossroads of Western
and Eastern Europe, is involved in a secessionist conflict and may
seek European Union membership. Join us for an engaging
conversation with Vlad Lupan, Moldova’s Ambassador to the United
Nations, and Mark A. Meyer ’71, ’07 HON, Moldova’s Honorary Consul
in New York and an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. John’s. The
discussants will share their perspectives on diplomacy,
international business, and the United Nations.
Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
Vlad Lupan
Ambassador Lupan has been a Member of Parliament, a political party
leader, presidential adviser, a conflict negotiator, a journalist,
and a diplomat with multiple postings.
Mark A. Meyer
Professor Meyer, a member of Herzfeld & Rubin P.C., has
extensive private practice experience in emerging markets and has
advised numerous presidents of Moldova and Romania. He chaired the
New York City Bar’s Mission concerning the separatist dispute in
Moldova.
