Assistant Professor
Canan Corus is currently an Assistant Professor of
Marketing at The Tobin College of Business. She recently received
her Ph.D. in marketing from the Pamplin School of Business at
Virginia Tech, holds an MBA from SUNY at Binghamton and a B.S.
in engineering from METU in Ankara, Turkey. Prior to starting her
academic career, Canan worked in the marketing division of the KOC
Group in Turkey.
Dr. Corus’ research interests are related to social marketing
and her main area of research is health marketing with a focus
on the effect of emotions on health behaviors. She has also
worked on individual differences regarding self-control and
targeted health messages. Canan focuses her research on the
consumption needs of vulnerable consumers. Her teaching
interests include advertising, sales promotion and consumer
behavior.
