Steven Bitler
Sirius XM
Intern for The Howard Stern Show
Steven Bitler is currently working as an intern for the Howard
Stern show, where he learned TV Production such as dubbing tapes,
archiving, tape management, quality control and the in and out of
the entertainment industry. Steven acquired his internship from a
posting on Career Link where he obtained the contact information of
Sean Gordon from Howard TV and contacted him multiple times
over the summer. "I got the position and from there networked my
way to the Sirius XM internship with the Howard Stern show." Over
his college career, Steven has had three additional internships
with CBS College Sports POWERADE intramurals where he learned Viral
marketing and how to independent, Sportsvite.com which taught him
how to conduct market research and network, and Moodswing 360 where
he learned about him talent management, contract negotiations and
competitor analysis.
Steve’s advices to another student so they can get the most out
of their internship experience is, “every internship is good
experience, even if you don’t like it at least you've learned what
you don’t like. Come in with a good attitude and be friendly to
everyone. Be humble because you may get yelled at or have to do
some not so glamorous work. Network and make friends, they may be
able to help you in the future and possibly connect you to a new
internship job. Ask for more responsibility! Employers don’t always
have time to focus on their interns so you have to come to them if
you want to get more involved. Work hard, be diligent and try to
make them feel as if they need you so it would be hard to let you
go, find your own way, stand out from the rest of the crowd.”
The best advice Steve received from a professor is to take
advantage of all the school has to offer. If you're just going to
class and going home you're not getting the most out of your
college experience. You pay a lot of tuition you might as well
make, as much of all St. John’s has to offer from the career
center, writing center, facilities, organizations, intramurals etc.
Just get involved on Campus.
