Professor Abadinsky on NPR's On Point Tonight at 8 p.m.

St. John’s University Professor, Howard Abadinsky, who is known nationally for his expertise on organized crime, was a guest on National Public Radio’s (NPR) talk show, On Point, with host Tom Ashbrook, this morning.  The show will air in New York this evening on WNYC (FM 93.9) at 8 p.m.

Dr. Abadinsky was joined by Virginia Commonwealth University Professor Jay Albanese and former prosecutor Mark Feldman for the first hour of this morning’s broadcast in a segment titled, “How Powerful is Organized Crime in America?” 

The author of several books, including Organized Crime, Law and Justice, Drug Use and Abuse, and Probation and Parole, Dr. Abadinsky is a Professor of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies in the College of Professional Studies.  He has been featured as an expert for several media outlets in the past week, including the Wall Street Journal, Reuters and the Washington Post.

On Point is broadcast for two hours daily across the country on NPR. The show’s lively conversation covers everything from breaking news to ancient poetry, and features writers, politicians, journalists, artists, scientists and ordinary citizens from around the world.  On Point is now carried by more than 190 stations nationwide, with a weekly audience of 1.3 million.
