To successfully register at St. John's University, international
students must complete all Immunization and medical insurance forms
issued by the University.
Immunization
New York State Public Health Law requires all students born on or
after January 1, 1957, to be immunized against measles, mumps and
rubella. Students must submit documentation of two doses of the
measles and one dose of the mumps and rubella before classes begin.
You will not be permitted to attend classes without proper
documentation.
Medical Insurance
Upon registering at St. John's University, all F-1 and J-1 students
are automatically enrolled in a mandatory medical insurance plan.
(Students in other non-immigrant statuses are welcome to purchase
the plan if desired.)
The plan provides a $100,000 maximum accident and sickness
benefit, including medical evacuation and repatriation. You will
receive a brochure describing the plan in detail at
Orientation.
The charge is billed with other University fees at the time you
register. Coverage may also be purchased directly through the
insurance company for dependants of F-1 and J-1 students at an
additional cost.
