Laura J. Cranston, R.Ph. '84P was awarded the Pietas Medal of
St. John’s University at the 28th Annual Alumni Convocation on
Friday, May 29, 2009.
She received her B.S. from St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 1984.
She served in executive positions at several pharmaceutical
associations, including the American Society of Consultant
Pharmacists, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the
Institute for the Advancement of Community Pharmacy and currently
serves as Executive Director of the newly created Pharmacy Quality
Alliance, Inc., an entity designed to improve health care quality
and patient safety.
Laura J. Cranston is a member of the University’s Board of
Governors, Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council for St. John’s
College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and is a
long-time participant in the Alumni Insider’s View
program.
She currently serves as Chapter Leader of the Washington, DC
Alumni Chapter.
“This is a very nice recognition after 25 years from my
graduation,” she said. “I really appreciate the recognition
and I really enjoy working with the St. John’s alumni down in
[Washington] DC.
The Pietas Medal is a singular honor reserved for alumni who
have demonstrated loyalty, fidelity and devotion to alma
mater in a multitude of ways.
