Presentation of the
Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award
to

Joseph S. Barbaro

Joseph S. Barbaro received his B.A. in Social Studies from St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1941. He devoted himself to making a difference in the lives of others through service at the New York City Youth Board, Executive Commissioner of Social Services for New York City, Director of Social Services for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Director of Administration for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. He received Papal honors twice -- in 1976 when he was named a Knight of the Holy Sepulcher and again in 1986 when he became a Knight of St. Gregory. Tonight, in celebration of his lifelong commitment to serving others and on the 70th anniversary of his graduation, St. John’s University presents the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award to Joseph S. Barbaro.
