Presentation of the
Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award
to
James E. Costello
James E. Costello received his B.A. in History from St. John’s
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1961. Currently Senior Vice
President at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, he has had a long career
at investment firms such as Dean Witter, E.F. Hutton,
Kidder-Peabody and Paine Webber. He is a member of the Knights of
Malta and Charter Member of Legatus, an international society of
Catholic business executives. In 1994 he was named Director
Emeritus of the St. John’s University Alumni Association, an
organization founded by his father Thomas, a 1927 St. John’s
graduate. He also supports the University through membership in The
Loughlin Society. Tonight, in celebration of his notable career and
on the 50th anniversary of his graduation, St. John’s University is
pleased to present the Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award to
James E. Costello.
