Presentation of the Pietas Medal to
Michael J. McInerney
Michael J. McInerney put his education on hold when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a paratrooper in Vietnam. Upon his return, he attended classes on both the Schermerhorn Street and Queens campuses of St. John’s University and completed his B.A. in Psychology in 1972 at what was at the time the University’s newest site -- Notre Dame College on Staten Island. After graduation he began what was to be a most impressive career in securities and investments. He held positions as Trader at Glickenhaus and Company, Vice President/Trader at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Greenwich Street Advisers and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and then became Managing Director/Trader at Par IV Capital Management LLC, from which he retired in 2011. His strong bonds with the University are evidenced by his membership in The Loughlin Society and his service as a member of the St. John’s Alumni Recruitment Team. Tonight, in celebration of his professional success and his loyal service and on the 40th anniversary of his graduation, St. John’s University takes great pleasure in presenting the Pietas Medal to Michael J. McInerney.
