of

Frank J. Pannizzo

A double alumnus of St. John’s, Frank J. Pannizzo received his B.A. in History and Social Sciences from University College in 1959 and his J.D. from the School of Law in 1962. Following his graduation from the School of Law he began what would become a lifelong dedication to public service. His first post was Assistant Attorney General of the State of New York. After five years he shifted his focus from the State to the City of New York, where for the next 35 years he served in a variety of high level positions at a number of agencies, including the New York City Department of Marine and Aviation; the New York City Economic Development Administration; the New York City Department of Ports and Terminals; and the New York City Energy Office. He also served as Counsel to the President of the Borough of Brooklyn and for ten years was a member of his local Brooklyn Community Board. An extremely generous donor to the University, he is a member of both The Founders Society and The Loughlin Society. In 2002, a grateful University awarded him the President’s Medal and in 2009 he received the Belson Medal from the School of Law. Tonight, in celebration of his remarkable legal career, his commitment to public service and in recognition of the 50th anniversary of his graduation from the School of Law, St. John’s University is pleased to induct Frank J. Pannizzo into the Heritage Circle.
