James A. Tomlinson
James A. Tomlinson received his B.S. in Communication Arts from St. Vincent’s College in 1982 and his M.B.A. in Marketing Management from the College of Business Administration in 1991. Currently Executive in Charge of Production for “Katie,” the Disney/ABC Television talk show hosted by Katie Couric, scheduled to debut next September, he began his career while still an undergraduate as a Production Manager at Columbia Pictures. He also held executive and creative positions at entertainment giants such as Viacom/MTV and A&E, where he was Vice President of Production and Operations. His talents have earned him Emmy Awards in 2000, 2002 and 2011, a Peabody Award in 2002 and a Columbia DuPont Award, also in 2002. In celebration of his impressive career and on the 30th anniversary of his undergraduate graduation, St. John’s University proudly presents the Pietas Medal to James A. Tomlinson.
