What are the requirements for this
St. John’s The Peter J. Tobin College of Business (TCB)
undergraduate students with a 3.0 GPA or higher who have completed
60 credit hours and are enrolled at the Queens, Staten Island,
Manhattan or Rome campuses. Graduate students with a 3.0 GPA
or higher who have completed two semesters of graduate courses and
are enrolled at the Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan or Rome
campuses. Please note that special consideration will
be given to students who have previously participated in other
Alumni Insider's View...Programs.
What can I expect to learn at this
Students can expect to learn about the various and diverse career
paths in the financial service industry. St. John’s
University alumni will share their experiences and current
employment roles through panels, one-on-one student interactions
and a networking reception. The program provides a real
“insider’s view” of jobs and career satisfaction from our alumni,
all of whom are willing and available to network with
What is the maximum number of students that can be
This premiere Alumni Insider’s View…Day on Wall Street program can
only accommodate up to 40 students due to transportation and site
visit capacity restrictions.
Is there a waiting list?
Yes. Although students receive notification of acceptance,
sometimes they cannot attend at the last minute for various
reasons. If an accepted student declines, someone from the
waiting list will be contacted to fill the position. If you are
called from the waiting list you are required to attend the
information orientation session in late October. If you are
called after the information orientation date has passed, you will
be required to speak to an administrator in the Office of Alumni
Relations to review necessary information.
When can I expect an
Upon receipt of your student application, you will be contacted
immediately for an interview. All interviews will conclude by
Friday, October 25, 2013.
How will I know that I’ve been accepted?
A representative from the Office of Alumni Relations will notify
you either by phone or e-mail during the last week of
October. If accepted, you must attend the mandatory
orientation session on Thursday, October 31, 2013.
Once accepted, what do I need to bring
Student participants should bring notebooks/pads and pens/pencils
for note-taking, seven copies of their resumes
and business cards, and business attire should be
worn. A program guide will be provided the day of the

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The day will include
company visits, panel discussions and keynote speakers. Lunch
will be provided. The day will conclude with a networking
reception and dinner. The bus will depart for the Queens
campus at approximately 8:30 p.m.
