2007-2008
St. John’s University is grateful to the very special
individuals who, through their ongoing generosity help to ensure
that the University’s unique mission remains vibrant today and for
generations to come. The dedicated alumni, employees,
parents, corporations, foundations and friends of St. John’s share
a profound commitment to the Vincentian values of caring and
concern for others that serve as the core of the St. John’s
experience.
Support from our donors has allowed the University to undertake
many exciting initiatives during the current academic year.
The innovative Discover the
World program offers students an opportunity to pursue an
academic semester in some of the most exciting cities of Europe,
Africa and Latin America. St. John’s has recently embarked on
an expanded program of service and social action initiatives,
bringing the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul to life by responding to
the real needs of real people both around the corner and around the
world.
During the past academic year St. John’s distributed over $337
million in financial aid, with $138.7 million coming from the
University’s own funds. This year, scholarship support for our most
deserving students will exceed even those figures, reaching an
all-time high. Our needs are great, and the generosity of our
donors helps to ensure that those needs will continue to be
met.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude that we present the Honor
Roll of Donors for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.
