For Shirley A. Griggs, Ed.D., St. John’s University professor
emerita, the mission and values of our Vincentian education led her
to create a memorial scholarship for The School of Education
students using a charitable gift annuity. For her gift, she
will receive fixed payments for life. “My most satisfying
experiences were advising and teaching graduate students in
counselor education and facilitating their growth,” says Dr.
Griggs. Now retired, she continues to serve them by creating
a new endowed scholarship that she hopes to supplement with
additional gift annuities in the future.
