Thomas R. Scandurra, Jr. Scholarship Fund

The Thomas R. Scandurra, Jr. Scholarship Fund was established in 1987 and amended in 1992 by Thomas and Olga Scandurra in memory of their son, Thomas R. Scandurra, Jr. ’76CBA. It was created to provide a partial annual scholarship to a full-time undergraduate student who has achieved Sophomore, Junior or Senior status in St. John’s The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. Recipients shall be selected based upon a combination of need and scholastic achievement and, if possible, a special emphasis upon the student’s active participation or assistance in the University's Athletic Program.  This is a one-time award for each recipient.

A men’s basketball season ticket holder, Thomas R. Scandurra, Jr. was an avid fan and supporter of St. John’s Athletic Programs from his student days until his untimely death at age 32. His parents established the scholarship as a way to ensure that his memory will live on by helping others to succeed. They hope that after graduation the scholarship recipients will consider giving back and contributing to the scholarship so that future students will continue to benefit from this generous assistance.
