Three classrooms in Sullivan Hall have been converted into two
larger “smart” classrooms. The classrooms have moveable furniture,
“smart” boards in which a projector is used to display a
computer's output on an interactive whiteboard, which then acts as
a large touch screen, “smart” tables that allow groups of students
to work simultaneously on one surface and traditional computer
stations, all capable of being reconfigured for an interactive
learning experience and teaching environment. Designed for
educational methodology and research classes, they will be used to
provide future teachers with the latest in professional development
services.
The technologically sophisticated equipment in these rooms mirror
that which is found in many primary and secondary school classrooms
in districts across the country, allowing future teachers to become
familiar with what they will encounter when they begin their
careers after graduation.
