There was a sense of anticipation in the air as members of the
St. John’s University Central and Northern New Jersey alumni
chapters gathered for a day at the races at Monmouth Park on May
12. More than 50 alumni and friends enjoyed a barbecue picnic
before settling in to watch the pounding hooves.
This is the third year that the Central and Northern NJ chapters
have held this event, which has increased in popularity every year.
“This was a great opportunity to spend a day at the races with
fellow alumni and friends,” said chapter co-coordinator Mike Brill
‘79MBA. “Each year we attract more and more alumni to this event
and we look forward to an even larger group next year.”
In addition to this one, the chapter sponsors several other
events throughout the year, including an upcoming trip to a
Lakewood Blue Claws vs. the Hickory Crawdads baseball game on
August 18.
