Alumni Cheer on the Red Storm in Syracuse

Alumni and friends gathered in Syracuse, NY to cheer on the St.
John’s University men’s basketball team as they played against
Syracuse University on January 2, 2008. Before the game,
alumni attended a private reception at a nearby hotel to socialize,
share light refreshments and relive student days.
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, Ray Lipinsky
'80SVC who was also in attendance noted, “It was great to see
the traditional Red Storm pride and excitement displayed by our
Syracuse and Western New York area alumni.” Alumna Doreena
Hamas ‘67Ed agreed; “No matter where I go and when I meet alumni, I
feel a good connection.” And Red Storm spirit certainly did
abound as the group enjoyed the afternoon together.
Everyone was glad for the opportunity to see the men’s
basketball team in action. “It is fun to get together with
other alumni and cheer on our team,” shared Margaret Donnelly
’77Ed.
Lipinsky also reminded the attendees to mark their calendars for
our upcoming Reunion 2008, to be held June 13 – 15, 2008 on the
Queens campus.
