Douglas Becker earned three degrees, including his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, from St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and is a Registered Pharmacist in both New York and Pennsylvania.
He began his career at American Cyanamid in 1982, which became part of American Home Products, and subsequently became Wyeth in 1994.
Becker later embarked on a career as an individual contributor in Technical Services for the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY. Within a year, he became the Department Head of that group.
He has since held various positions, including Department Head of Granulation and Batching within Lederle Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Director of Product Development for the Lederle Consumer Health Division. At Wyeth he served as the Director of Technology and Process Innovation, the Senior Director of Technical Services for North America and the Senior Director of Process Technology.
