Alumni shared their thoughts about Reunion Celebration Weekend
2008 and St. John’s University:
“After 50 years the changes here are tremendous. The
buildings, the amount of students and the fact that they now come
from so many different places. St. John’s looks so different
now but at its heart, where it counts, it’s really the same.”
Kenneth N. LaMotte '58C
“It’s great to be back. The campus has changed so much.”
Elizabeth Woods Palmer '78C, '81MBA
“This is my 40th reunion and I am so excited to be here. I’ve

friends.”
Walter Zimmermann '58C
“When my husband first attended here, he did one year at the
Jamaica campus and there was one building. Now, we say you could
positively get lost [on campus].”
Joan T. Woelfel '57UC who attended with her husband John Woelfel

“The facilities are wonderful. The Queens campus is like a
tiny city.”
Patricia Maiasky Cooke '68Ed
“This campus is a far cry from what it was during my student
days. I think there were two buildings here then.”
John McCaul '58C
“We enjoyed Alumni Convocation. It was inspirational to
see the tremendous accomplishments of our fellow alumni.”
