Alumni in Chicago Gather for Drinks
October 10, 2008
An intimate group of alumni and friends gathered at the home of
Bob ('70UC) and Christine Ryan in Chicago, IL overlooking Lake
Michigan on Thursday, October 2, 2008.
The group met just after sunset to enjoy hors ‘oeuvres and
drinks and meet with other St. John’s alumni in their city.
The event, which offered a relaxing atmosphere where attendees
could chat and reminisce, evoked recollections from some about why
they chose to attend St. John’s and their subsequent student
experiences.
Attendees also heard from Associate Director, Student Engagement
and Regional Programs, Office of Alumni Relations, Andrea T. Papa
'88SVC who shared University highlights including the construction
of Founder’s Village (new residence halls), the acquisition of a
location in Paris and the status of the Carnesecca Initiative
(improvements being made to Carnesecca Arena).
The opportunity to meet fellow St. John’s graduates drew some
for their first-ever alumni event. “I decided to come tonight
since I’m new to this area as a recent graduate,” shared Yoojung
Yang '08GP.
Guests enjoyed the evening and look forward to future events.
“I’m so happy to have attended,” commented Janet Diaz '76C. “St.
John’s has done so much for me.”
