Alumni and friends gathered at the Oakdale campus for a festive
holiday celebration hosted by the Suffolk County Alumni Chapter.
Held at the historic Bourne Mansion, the showplace of the Oakdale
Graduate Center, the event allowed guests to catch up with old
friends and make some new ones as they were treated to festive
holiday decorations, a Christmas tree and live music.
Guests put their Vincentian values into action by donating new,
unwrapped toys to the St. John’s Bread and Life Sponsor-A-Family
Program, a service initiative that provides food and gifts to over
2,000 families and 5,000 children throughout the greater New York
metropolitan area.
“The Bourne Mansion is exquisite and a great place to hold an
event,” said Julia Block ’71P. “I am delighted the Chapter decided
to utilize this space, and it will hopefully bring awareness to
other alumni about this wonderful campus.”
